黃致傑博士為藝術家、大學教師,於國立清華大學通識教育中心、科技藝術研究所合聘,開設有藝術與設計類課程,推廣美感與實作教育。研究領域為演算法藝術、互動裝置、產品設計、人機互動和機器人數位製造等,專注探索仿生演算法的數學與運算機制,並以此為基礎,應用於衍生圖像系統和動力結構設計,以在美學表現上開創新可能。
作品橫跨科技藝術、產品設計與建築裝置,發表於全球指標性國際學術會議和藝文節慶中,包括Ars Electronica奧地利電子藝術節、SIGGRAPH/SIGGRAPH Asia電腦動畫與互動科技國際展會、CHI國際人機互動研討會、IEEE VIS國際資料視覺化研討會、ALIFE人工生命研討會、Bridges國際數學藝術研討會、ISEA國際電子藝術研討會,以及德國ZKM藝術與媒體中心、英國動態藝術博物館、布拉格DOX現代藝術中心、福岡市美術館、紐約科學館、俄羅斯Erarta當代藝術博物館、米蘭設計週、荷蘭設計週、斯德哥爾摩設計週等。並於ACM SIGGRAPH/SIGGRAPH Asia、IEEE VIS會議,以及義大利A’Design設計獎等國際組織主辦議程與擔任評審,推動科技與藝術的發展。
他曾獲頒林茲電子藝術節Expanded學術會議創作論文榮譽獎(Honorable Mention)、米蘭家具展SaloneSatellite設計新銳衛星獎第二名、日本松山城設計週的花意象設計獎第二名、德國iF設計獎、紅點設計獎、美國CA傳達藝術年度卓越獎、IMAA國際動態視覺藝術獎、日本ADAA亞洲數位藝術大賞優秀獎 、日本東北藝術與科技競賽最優秀獎、英國Aesthetica美學藝術獎入選、紐約MUSE設計獎金獎等榮譽,並受Leonardo/ISAST期刊作品收錄。
Scottie Chih-Chieh Huang (黃致傑)
is an artist, designer, and educator, currently serves as an associate professor at the Center for General Education (CGE) at the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), where he actively leads the BioLogicDesign (BLD) Lab. He also maintains a joint appointment at the Interdisciplinary Graduate Institute of Art and Technology.
His work focuses on biologically-inspired computing as a means to explore new aesthetics in the realm of generative graphic art and kinetic structural systems. His work have been showcased in museums, galleries, and festivals globally, including prestigious venues such as the Ars Electronica, ZKM, NYSCI, Kinetica Museum, Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art, and notable events like the Milan Design Week and Dutch Design Week, among others.
His research exploring topics in shape-changing interface, recursive growth computation, creative robotics, interactive art and kinetic structural system has been presented and published in top-tier conferences and journals, including Expanded Animation, Bridges, ACM SIGGRAPH/SIGGRAPH Asia, IEEE VIS, ACM CHI, ALIFE, ISEA, CAAD FUTURES, HCII, Leonardo, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, ACM/Springer Mobile Networks & Applications, and others.

Educationally, Scottie earned his Master's degree from the Graduate Institute of Architecture at the National Chiao Tung University before completing his Ph.D. in Architecture at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. He spent time as a Visiting Researcher at the Digital Building Technologies (DBT) chair, Institute of Technology in Architecture (ITA) at the Department of Architecture (D-ARCH), ETH Zürich. In addition, he held residency positions at Grame - Centre National de Création Musicale in Lyon, France, and Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado, USA.
Before joining NTHU, Scottie taught at National Dong Hwa University and Chung Hua University. he has commitment to the development of the digital arts is evidenced by his service on the ACM SIGGRAPH Digital Arts Community committee. He coordinated and chaired the SIGGRAPH Asia art gallery in 2014 and 2016, highlighting his dedication to this evolving field.
